“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and
do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
GALATIANS 5:1
"I'm Never Good Enough"
Ponder the words “I’m never good enough” that may have penetrated your thought patterns since childhood.
At least for many of us it has.
The difficulty and struggle is that in some ways, here on this earth, in your flesh life, it is true. That’s why we need a Savior to rescue us from our sin and failures, which will mark our lives until the day He takes us home. The problem comes when we try to fix ourselves, try to be better, according to our own standards and those of others. I don’t know about you, this fails for me every time. Grasping this truth of weakness can be a real pathway to joy and freedom. Allow Jesus to invite you in to a small part of His goodness and His perfection as you lay yourself down and let go of your own striving to be better. Let Him minister to you, transform, lead and direct you.
You are Enough in Christ Jesus
You are enough in Christ Jesus. He is good enough. Thank you, Lord!
“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best
in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses,
so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I
take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships,
persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am
weak, then I am strong.”
2 CORINTHIANS 12: 9-10 NLT
Christ in me will always be good enough. He is my strength.
ACTION
Allow the thoughts of: “Christ in me is always good enough” to sink in. Practice saying the words, “I will never be good enough, weakness will always be a trait that I bear. May I learn to take pleasure in this because then I will see the power of God in my life and in the power of God I will be strong. Christ in me will always be good enough. He is my strength.”
PRAYER
I love you Lord, help me praise You today, thanking You in my weakness. I
confess I have wanted to strive in my own strength. I recognize that it is as
I accept the weakness in me, I desire to experience more of Your power and
strength in my life. I do not want to be Lord of my own domain anymore.
Please take over, Lord. I give You…
Keep praying and give the Lord all the things you are striving for.
There is a Battle
CHALLENGE
There is a battle every time you make a choice to move deeper in God. Take courage, keep going. Hold fast to what is true. Speak out the truth of God’s Word. This is your armour.
Read Ephesians again:
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armour so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armour so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armour of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and
be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”
