A Christ-Centred Recovery Group in my Church? Is this Something we Need to be Thinking About?

This is a webinar that lasts about an hour; an online webinar we are offering on demand to churches/church leaders as they begin to explore a biblically based, Christ-centred recovery support group ministry for the local church.  This gives an opportunity to chat through specific local needs/challenges and also what Free! Recovery can offer.

A major reason to begin a recovery group is that we all need to grow in the freedom that we have in Christ and we need to experience the wonderful message of the Gospel which leads to the freedom that only Christ can give.

Most people have something that controls their thoughts and behaviours, some of the time if not more often. You just need to ask yourself what are you thinking about most of the time? Many people would not use the term life-controlling or even addictive but what they describe could very well fall into these categories; from alcohol, drugs, porn and gambling to the struggles with anger, worry, and eating issues. Beginning to provide a place for people to express their struggles, tell their stories can really help a congregation get to know each other, and provide an atmosphere where others from outside can possibly join.
