Ponder, Action, Prayer, Challenge

Ponder

Read Galatians 5 v 22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

  • Think about the fruits of the Spirit that you struggle most with and offer them to God in prayer, asking him to transform you.

  • Choose one that you have struggled with this week and think about how you could act in a more Christ-like way in that situation.

  • Ask God for his help in this.

Action

Go to a trusted friend and confess the parts of the list in Galatians 5 v 22-23 that you find difficult. Work through with your friend how you might act differently in situations that have been a problem this week. Another option would be to begin a journal, writing out your confessions and requests to God daily and share this with a trusted friend.

Prayer both morning and evening

Dear heavenly Father, please bless me with the sincere desire to seek you every morning. Let me start our days with being thankful for all you are constantly giving me, and doing in my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

Biblical Challenge

Read the Key Verse Galatians 5:16 everyday this week: So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Memorise if you are able.

Read Galatians 5:13-14 & 19-21 everyday this week: You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
