Week 9 Day 60 When It is all Just too Much

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."

Ponder: When inner chaos meets outer chaos; tornado or just a complete shut down can so easily become a reality. We all have days where one thing after another blind sides us, our internal and external responses to life are things we are not proud of...

The Saviour is still there....

Longing to meet us....

Waiting ....

Psalm 73 reflects both inner and outer turmoil: Listen to verses 21 - 26:

Then I realized that my heart was bitter,

and I was all torn up inside.

I was so foolish and ignorant—

I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.

Yet I still belong to you;

you hold my right hand.

You guide me with your counsel,

leading me to a glorious destiny.

Whom have I in heaven but you?

I desire you more than anything on earth.

My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,

but God remains the strength of my heart;

he is mine forever.

Action: Just like this baby clinging to daddy's fingers, let us cling to Abba. Remember He is your strength, He is your counsel and help in times of need. Cling and cry out to Him even if your feelings do not want to. Just do it in faith. Find something to say thank you for. Read His Word, feed on it. Listen to worship songs, Sing to Jesus. Tell Jesus all about what you are going through. Confess if you need to! He is enough all the time, especially when your strength and resolve are weak. Thank Him for that strength.

Prayer: Lord, you are the strength of my life. You are enough for all my challenges, even if I do not feel like it. I thank you that You are always with me. May I learn contentment in You, even when life is not as I would have it. I choose to cling to You today. Help my focus turn outward and not inward. Show me who needs prayer and help from You today. May I look forward to Your return. In Your Name. Amen.

Challenge: If you haven't already, create a place where you live which is your place of prayer. That place where you go to talk with Jesus, to spend time with Abba, to read His Word. A place to be reminded that it is good to spend time with God. This is a place of freedom, where the world can grow dim in the light of the presence of Christ. A place of joy, contentment and peace. Holy ground. His place to meet with You. Remember God is with you always, but this is a place where you purposefully stop and place your life in His.
