Week 8 Day 53: Cracks, God and People
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1
Ponder: I don't know about you, but I know that days, thinking and emotions go much better when my relationship with Abba, Father has no cracks. Also, when there are no cracks between myself and friends/family. One of the sad cracks is the holding onto grudges and hurt. This will impact your freedom in Christ! Listen to the following very 'hard to hear verse' in the Scriptures:
Mark 11:25 "But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too" N.L.T.
Action: This verse is talking about relationship, Jesus is sharing that forgiveness is very very important and will make a difference to your relationship with Abba, Father. This doesn't impact salvation, that is sorted, (if you are His child through belief that Jesus died for you on the cross and belief that the power of sin in your life has been broken and you are a new creation through His resurrection (a)) but your walk with God and others will be deeply affected. God has forgiven you ALL your sin, and you are holding onto the sin of others...Yes, there are probably very hurtful things, sometimes painful trauma, long term impacts. RUN to the Father, cry out to Him for His strength to forgive others. It is all about relationship and walking the narrow path with Him. You have a choice, maybe a heart-rending difficult choice, to forgive. It might take day after day...God is asking you for the willingness to follow Him in a deeper way. No one said this was easy. Nor was the cross. It is not about whether or not someone else confesses or says sorry. This is all about your choice to have a deeper, freeing relationship with the Father. I am on this journey with you! Take courage.
Prayer: Lord, Abba, I come to you with my love today. I know that I need to talk to you today about some things that hurt. Please capture these things and transform them with Your grace, mercy and love. I do not want a broken relationship with you or others. I choose to forgive. Help me! The only reason I can run to You is that I am Your child. Break through into my broken hard heart and mind with Your transforming love and grace. Draw me deeper into You. Thank you, Lord. Amen
Challenge: Today the challenge is forgiveness itself. As you sit with Your Father, ask Him to show You any grudges in your heart against anyone. Forgive. Remember Jesus's forgiveness of your sin and healing of broken parts. Ask the Father to help you receive His love, mercy and grace.
(a) If God has touched you today with this salvation message please talk to God and ask God to forgive your sin:
Dear God, I believe Jesus died on the cross and rose again to give me new life in Him. I ask you to forgive my sin, past present and future. Help me grow in this knowledge of what has happened. I thank you. Amen
