Week 4 Day 24: New Life
"It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery". Galatians 5:1
Idols and What/Who we Worship
2 Corinthians 5:17: "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" N.L.T.
Galatians 2:20: "My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." N.L.T.
Colossians 1:27: "For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory." N.L.T.
Action: Today just thank God for the new life He has gifted you with. Wonderfully, this is eternal, everlasting life that is available to us right now. You are united with Christ. Thank God for the value He places on you, His love and provision. Thank Him for His protection and that He is your refuge, your strength, an ever present help.
Prayer: Lord, I feel weary in and of the circumstances I find myself in, not least in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. Let me not use this as an excuse to use or wallow in any way. I desperately and vitally need to create new habits of obedience in my life. It is difficult, Lord, as I fight the world, my own flesh and the devil. I fight motivation, doubt and my own will to be obedient to You. Let me please grasp what it means to be so valued in You and what it means to be a new person in You, united with You. Let this truth invade every part of my life, internally and externally. Amen
Challenge: Rest in our Lord, today!
