Week 3 Day 19: Sheep

"It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery". Galatians 5:1

TRIGGERS AND TEMPTATIONS

Ponder: The famous words at the beginning of Psalm 23,

"Because the Lord is my Shepherd I have everything I need." Verse 1

Action: Ask yourself:

  • Do you know God as Lord? Have you counted the cost of following Him and made Him Lord of your life? Lord of your desires, wants and needs?

  • Do you know God as your Shepherd, your protector, your rescuer? Do you like to lead your own life in your own way?

  • As you deal with these fundamental relationship questions, do you trust Him to provide your every need?

  • Contemplate the above questions, talking to God as you ponder; then ask yourself, what impact would knowing God as Lord, your Shepherd and trusting Him for everything you need, have on your addictive issues and thought patterns on a daily basis?

Prayer: Lord, I desire for you to be Lord of my entire life. I give you my.....(just give Him all that comes to mind). I trust you to take care of all my needs. Help me to know you as my Lord and Shepherd in a deeper, more meaningful way today. Amen

Challenge: Read the whole of the 23rd Psalm asking God to show you what He wants your to know today. Maybe some of you need the assurance of His love. Ask Him.

Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need!

He lets me rest in the meadow grass and leads me beside the quiet streams. He gives me new strength. He helps me do what honors him the most.Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way.

You provide delicious food for me in the presence of my enemies. You have welcomed me as your guest; blessings overflow!

Your goodness and unfailing kindness shall be with me all of my life, and afterwards I will live with you forever in your home. TLT version
