Week 3 Day 16: Triggers and Temptations
"It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery". Galatians 5:1
Ponder: The Lord's prayer can speak to our insecurities, our fears, the times we are "triggered" or tempted, and also what to do about the people who trigger us. Not easy things at all. Ponder the Lord's prayer and ask the Lord what He wants you to know about Him, yourself and others as you read:
Matthew 6: 9-13 The Living Bible:
Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
Action: Continue to sit with the above thoughts. Remember
He is in Heaven on the throne
He is your Provider
He is your Protector
He is your Rescuer
Prayer: Lord, help me to remember to run to you and flee the triggers. I ask you to fill me with Your strength to do this.
Challenge: Take an issue that you struggle with and pray the Lord's prayer with that issue in mind.
