Week 11 Day 74: The Hand
"It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1
Ponder: How do you use your hands? Do you have full control? or does someone move your fingers for you?
Sounds ridiculous but think about your life-controlling activity. What is making you choose to do the things you do? Yes you have a thought, but who acts it out?
The Bible is written to guide us. We then choose whether or not to follow the path of the Lord or not. We act out to sin or to do good. This is our responsibility. We grow in the Lord by hiding His word in our hearts so we do not sin against Him. "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119: 11
The psalmist has done the work of hiding the word in his heart. Are you, am I willing to make this a daily commitment? Something that will at times bring me hope, joy and a steadfastness that I would never experience otherwise.
Read and Ponder His Word today. A book like James if you are struggling with a tangible temptation. Maybe if you need encouragement and hope, John's Gospel Chapter 15 about the Vine and the branches. As you read, ask for a deeper assurance of the Father's love, and His choice to call you into His family.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that You have not left us alone. We have Your Word and we live in a time and place, most of us, where Your Word is easy to get a hold of. Help us not take it for granted and treat Your Word as essential as the food we eat each day. Forgive me/us for our neglect of Your Word in my/our lives. Change and transform me that I wil simply hunger after Your presence every day of my life! I need You every moment or every day! Amen.
Challenge: Choose a book in the Scriptures to read today. Stop and ponder words, pray as you read, ask the Lord to reveal Himself to your heart today. You may only get as far as one verse, that is ok!
God Bless you as you live in our Lord today!
