Week 11 Day 72: The Ultimate Protector

Updated: Mar 23

"It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

Ponder: Luke 11:34–35 says, “Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.”

What is lurking in the darkness in your life? Sins that you know are not pleasing to God, things you are ashamed of. It could also be anger, judgement of others, gossip, holding on to...? Even fear, or shame, which prevents you trusting completely. Anything that pulls you away from Abba, Father and not towards Him. Confess, let Him clean you up and put you on the right path again, full of light.

Action: The ultimate protection for our eyes, is to fix our eyes on Jesus, who is the light of the world. This is a habit to cultivate, to run to His Word, to pray, to seek company of good friends, who lead you towards Jesus, not away from Him. Read good solid Christian material and listen to worship music, leading you deeper into your relationship with Him. At the same time make up your mind to flee all darkness. Ask the Father to show you the things that really are not helpful in your life. Then listen and put into practice our Father's discipline. It truly is from a source of love.

Lord, I thank you that there is no darkness in You, that You are the light of the world. Help me to trust You completely and I now surrender all the darkness of my life. Please convict my heart when I start moving towards the darkness again. I am weak but You are strong and have all the power. I need this power in me working to build new habits of prayer and Bible reading. Let this no longer be an optional extra in my life but a vital component. Forgive me when I forget and please pull me back again and again. Amen

Challenge: Write down all the things you want to give to our Abba, Father. For example: today I want to give You, Abba my desire to control the world around me. Help me to let go and break free from feeling like having to do this. Another time it would have been my judgements of others or my fears...

God Bless you and have a good day in Him.
