Week 11 Day 71 We have a Part to Play
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let
yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1
Ponder: We have a part to play in our journey with recovery. Just like this film crew! They are usually unseen. But each has a role. Listen to this, a paragraph from our Battlefield of the Mind workshop:
"We are not passive in the battles with our addiction. It is not a case of recognising our powerlessness and expecting God to deal with it and clear up the mess, or the consequence, with no effort on our part. In every area of our lives, God works in partnership with us. He empowers us, but then we must also do our part."
Action: There are many voices that seem to shout at us giving all kinds of different messages. The journey in recovery is no different. 1 Corinthians 14:33 reminds us that God is not the author of confusion. Learning to listen to the right message is something we can learn to do. Think about how you can find ways of listening to the right message and incorporate new habits into your day.
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2.
Prayer: Help me in my walk with You today, Lord. Let me practice resisting the enemy and You say he will flee from me. Let me grow in my faith with You today. I need You. Thank You that I can even talk to You like this. Amen.
Challenge: Read one of Paul's letters today. I like Ephesians or Colossians. Thinking about who you are in Christ. This will help you fight confusion and temptation as you focus on the truth and not lies.
God Bless you in your walk today
