Week 10 Day 66: Everyday a New Day

Updated: Mar 16

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let

yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

Ponder: If you are anything like me some days are just messy, all over the place and unstructured. I always mean the days to be less chaotic but somehow that is often my brain. It is a circumstance and I do have choices! I used to think my choice was to "be a good girl! and pull myself together!" That was just pleasing an internal voice or someone else! Nowadays I so much more want to please my Abba, Father. He will give me what I need; His power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. I can even boast in my weakness...wow! What a concept. I am so very glad that every day is a new day in our Lord. We can begin again. Whatever the day before brought; Whatever sins you committed, joys and challenges! You can even ask the Lord that you could be less self-absorbed today:

"Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too" Philippians 2:4 N.L.T

Action: Think of three ways to reach out to someone else today. Ask Abba, our Father, to direct your path and not lean on your own understanding as you reach out. When you are tempted to be self-absorbed that is the very time to pray that you would be lifted out of the mire into helping someone else.

Prayer: Lord, I am astonished sometimes how self-focused I am so much of the time. Help me take an interest in others, in Your Kingdom, Lord. Amen

Challenge: Begin small and do not give up. A smile, a card, a phone call might be a small thing but it could brighten someone's day. Praying for someone; God sees. Forgiving someone and praying for peace is also a way of looking outward.

"So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up." Galatians 6:9
