Week 1 Day 7: Life is Out of Control

"It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery". Galatians 5:1

Ponder: This week began with admitting you need help. We continued onto the need to hand over the control of your life. We then pondered how thoughts can very much be linked to a life being out of control. We then moved on to how desires and expectations needed to be examined in the light of "taking up our cross." and the concept of giving them over to God, no matter how painful. We ended the week with a look at Psalm 62 and moving into a deeper trust of God.

Action: What was the aspect of this week that struck a chord with you? It may be useful to write this down and talk to God about that very issue. Maybe a deep desire or a hidden expectation? A negative recurring thought pattern? Maybe as you pondered that Psalm you realised that you had not been trusting God in an area of your life? or even had a struggle trusting God for anything. Reach out to someone to talk to, even the support group or a 1-2-1 session, or even your pastor or church leader to pray with you about these things. Make sure you feel safe and can trust the person you are going to ask.

Prayer: Lord, help me as I re- ponder these issues. Help me recognise the things you are revealing to me. I pray for the courage to address these things. Let me let go of the pride that will tell me I can do all of this by myself; that tells me I don't need help. Lord, I do need help. Lead me in Your ways.

Challenge: Be consistent at support groups, prayer meetings and main meetings

(Church, Free! etc.) this next week. "And let us not neglect our meeting together,

as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his

return is drawing near." Hebrews 10:25 New Living Translation
